Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 837 of Milford Ohio
Welcome Back
Welcome Back Boys and Families!
A new school year, and St. Mark’s Cub Pack 837 welcomes back old hands as well as new recruits.
The Pack is “chartered”, which really means it is franchised to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church on Buckwheat Rd. in Milford. It was founded by Christian parents who wished to create a fun, exciting Cub Scout program while maintaining a biblical worldview. The Pack is led by its Cubmaster, Mr. Marc Littlecott (Eagle Scout) who is a member of St. Mark’s.
There are two kinds of meetings in Cub Scouting: weekly Den meetings and a monthly Pack meeting. Having your son dressed properly (see uniform policy) and on time for meetings will really help your den leaders.
1st grade (TIGER) dens meet less often; generally, 1-2 times a month including a themed field trip called a “Go See It”. A different parent plans and leads each month’s program. BSA policy requires 1st grade parents to attend all activities with their sons.
Second, all the dens comprise the greater “Pack”. The Pack generally meets the last Monday of each month with a few exceptions due to holidays (see pg. 3). Each month’s Pack Meeting has a different theme. At the Pack Meeting, the theme is observed in the program, decorations and activities. Pack meetings are family celebrations with their sons. Bring siblings too! Pack policy is that at least one family member must attend the Pack meeting with their son. (It’s devastating for a boy to be the only one getting an award without a family member present.)
Our Pack participates in a vast array of both indoor and outdoor activities throughout the year. There are also camping opportunities through the council during the summer months. Other major events planned this year include Pinewood Derby, Blue and Gold Dinner, Day Camp, & family camps. Here’s to FUN!
